The arrow seemed to fly through the air quite slowly, the momentum carried it to its target as accurately as Von had planned. The explosion was huge for the size of the bomb, the blast radius not far from where Von was standing but he obviously knew what he was doing. The tree’s seem to groan as the force of the blast rustled their leaves, the sound of creaking wood almost cancelled out by the sound of maniacal laughter.

The illusion of ashe was no more and only radiant dust seemed to lie in it’s place. Auriel was stealthed, she had learnt more than just trick’s since her time in Demacia. She now had the speed and strength to match her inherited abilities. “We must find some other weakness then, mustn’t we?” she yelled, trying to contain her never subsiding laughter. In her hand still the chained mace, each swing slow but gaining force, if it hit directly it would surely break a bone or two. It was a short stand off before she lunged at him, the heavy end of the chain aimed towards his legs.

"Preach about abandoning your home? I'm afraid that's not what I'm here to do. All I'm asking is, as odd as it sounds, to enjoy your company."

It’s been a long time since anyone enjoyed my company, a long time indeed. For the last 6 or so month’s i have been in Noxus, and in this time Ive spoke only to a few. I have nothing to offer you i’m afraid, but if you have the patience to deal with me i can offer you some of my time. Although, i have no idea what you would wish to talk about summoner.

Auriel was not stupid, she knew she was being kited. He was stalling her, his mobility was far greater than her’s as she relied on brute force which would work, could she get close. She had not expected tree’s however… tricky. Cat and mouse was not an enjoyable game, especially those who must chase. She hissed, that look in her eye’s bore a resemblance to her father’s, that annoyed disappointed look that Von would surely remember.

"Tree’s… is that something she taught you?" she questioned, her eyes scanning along the treeline, not being able to catch more than a glimpse from the corner of her eye she stopped amidst all the tree’s. The chain, held tightly in her hand she swung the mace around aside of her, gaining momentum with each swing.

If he wanted to be cruel and tease her, she assumed it would be only fair for him to get a taste of his own medicine. Being kited was one thing, but being baited was another. She thrust her hand upwards her cloak rolling off her other shoulder, her full armor exposed for a brief second before she too vanished not actually going anywhere but simply replacing herself with a illusion of the frost queen he liked so much, injured laying on the ground dead center of his playground. Identical, and lifelike it would be very difficult to tell apart from the real thing. Auriel was being cruel, she called out hoping his emotion’s would get the better of him.

If anything this would be a good challenge for both of them, Von had all his experience and Auriel had hardly any, but she had strategic knowledge that would help her counter him. She motioned with her hand, for him to run not expecting him to hide, that would only make it more fun. She wasn’t worried about his arrow bomb at this point, she would be gone in a matter of seconds anyway as upon his disappearance the several clones of herself shattered turning themselves into a trail of deep purple, turning crimson smoke that seemed to cling to the air heading in the direction he had transported himself to.

It would take her more time, to be able to conjure the spectre’s again but she had other way’s to play with Von. Unhooking the mace from her belt, the chain gave slack and she took it with her free hand, not running but hurrying in the direction of the smoke before it would dissipate into the air. She didn’t really want to hurt him, not too badly at least.. but more mess with him, make him doubt himself as she often did herself. Make him see thing’s he did not want to see, but first she had to find him.

Sadly, i cannot share that with you just yet.. it may be some time time before you find out.” She said quietly, her right hand flicking her cloak over her shoulder on that one side, revealing a spike tipped mace that was fixed on a long wooden handle, followed by a substantial amount of chain. It was fixed about her waist but she didn’t remove it, instead her fingers rested upon the handle while she took a stance that shifted her position more side on rather than face to face.

Her armor clearly Noxian underneath, was spotless and was far more intricate than she was first given. She had made it her own, she gave it her own personality. She held it well, having trained enough mentally and physically to pull off combat even in her fragile state. Her hair, hanging over one side of her face bothered her as she stared Von down. “I implore you to make the first move, give me a real test.." she requested, moving her free hand up to brush the hair behind her ear revealing her very distinct different colour eyes, one of which seemed to glow faintly.

"I see, and i hear more than most people" She said still admiring the small creature that was being brought to life in her palm. The small bird was beautiful, it twitched and bounced around in her hand looking up at both of them as they spoke. "You don’t need to make excuse’s, i understand. In fact i am more sympathetic than you think, a hard decision had to be made. To defy a Queen, to break her heart and watch from afar as she continued on as the strong mature woman she is. OR… leave me, the lost little girl who had no other friend or love in her life. Who had and still has nothing, who put all her trust into one person" She spoke her tone sarcastic, cold, frightening almost.

It fell silent for a moment, Auriel’s gaze still on the bird as a sadness filled her eyes. She didn’t cry, but it was obviously she wasn’t quite well inside herself. Her finger’s twitched, and the light around the small bird turned to black, her sadness now replaced with anger. Head lowered, her teeth clenched- something seemed to happen.

"My freedom has been earned, i have purpose!" she hissed, the bird lay now lifeless in her hand. It was symbolic of how the old Auriel was no more. She tipped her palm, and the bird didn’t fall but turned instead into dust and scattered before landing on the ground. She grinned amused by this, looking at Von she nodded softly. "…I accept your apology, but i offer no apology’s for what i am about to do to you!" Her voice grew louder as she spoke, as several copies of herself began to appear around them both. Time to show Von, what she had learnt.

"Miss Auriel, correct? Might I have some of your time?"

"You are indeed correct although, not too many people call me by much anymore. Who are you and what do you want, if you have come here to preach to me about how i have made a terrible mistake by abandoning my home. Please, save your breath."

summonerauriel:

Am i?” She questioned, wanting him to explain the context of his question. She continued to approach him, her steps were slow and her footing even- stopping within arm’s reach of him. He still looked the same to her, though she had changed much it was evident that the time…

His stare seemed blank, almost as if he was a million mile’s away- lost in some vivid memory, a recollection of a event perhaps that still tormented him. Part of her felt for him still, somewhere perhaps in between the fine lines of love and friendship something that made her feel some concern as he turned away. She held still though, leaving him to his shame. It wasn’t easy, but she managed it continuing to just remind herself of the way he had hurt her before she had mysteriously vanished.

"I have been close by, the opposite side of the institute. In Noxus, living in relative safety under the tuition of The Hand of Noxus. Where i have spent the last few month’s being cared for perhaps under the same kind of discipline i had at home, but yet with freedom i’ve never known… I’ve grown as a person, as you can clearly see.." She spoke, not looking in his direction but concentrating more on the palm of her hand as if she held something there, her eyes narrowing in concentration, a small bead of light hovering in her palm slowly increasing in size.

"I didn’t expect a rescue party, i didn’t need one but had you gone to look for me i would have known, the sentiment might have meant something. It might have helped me somehow.. i don’t know, you just disappointed me. I can only assume it is because i didn’t give myself to you, or that you liked me only from pity. It doesn’t really matter now…" She sighed a little, her emotionless composure breaking only for a second as her eyes closed in tandem with her vocal display of disappointment. "Do you remember this, Von?" She asked, lifting her head, her gaze now fixed at his, sitting in her palm the small bird from the first time they met. That lonely bird that once represented herself. "I’m sure you couldn’t have forgotten.."

summonerauriel:

Auriel looked at Von as he spoke, his reaction to her return was curious indeed. He stammered his words, he seemed surprised - caught out perhaps. She too was surprised, he was able to recognise her so easily underneath a long sleeved black cloak with a hood covering her long…

Am i?” She questioned, wanting him to explain the context of his question. She continued to approach him, her steps were slow and her footing even- stopping within arm’s reach of him. He still looked the same to her, though she had changed much it was evident that the time that had passed was not the eternity it felt like.

Perhaps a shadow of her former self she spoke coldly to him, the past excitement and enthusiasm gone from her character. Her posture stiff, military like- her stance that of importance, power although technically she had none. She held herself with confidence, and yet her body language still remained regal and somehow elegant.

She tilted her head to one side, awaiting his answer. She felt disappointed, hurt almost at the fact that he had not tired to find her, or contact her.. and yet, he seemed surprised that she was back. She wondered if her return was about to pose an inconvenience to him, those few memories she had of their early friendship they were fighting their way back to her.. however she didn’t want to think about that. She was here to see him, but for more than just a reunion.
